The extent of the damage caused by natural disasters depends on the type of disaster, intensity of the event, the structural integrity of existing infrastructure, preparedness of communities, and the support available after the disaster. Typically, communities take 5+ years to fully recover from a disaster. As a locally led mission, local Global Care operations are able to stay on the ground and offer long-term support for affected communities.

Rick is an elderly gentleman living on a large property just outside of Taree, NSW. In January 2020, a tornado came through his property and completely destroyed his home. Once Global Care volunteers caught wind of the disaster, they immediately responded to help Rick get back on his feet.
